Can everyone please take care in what they post on the subject. I have been inundated with complaints. Please, we are all going through distressing times, and some have already been affected more than others.
Thank you.

Re: COVID-19 postings
I think some upset could be avoided if people were to post jokes in the jokes section of the forum and not the general section ?

Re: COVID-19 postings
Or post political messages in threads not about politics.... where does it stop?
Surely Covid-19 threads should be in the health section - but we all know why they are not.
Jokes threads should have 'Joke' as the first word of the thread title. However, people add jokes to serious thread subjects, sometimes in poor taste, sometimes in an attempt to lighten the mood... it's a judgement call exercised by humans who make mistakes.
If people are going to be offended it does not matter which section the post is in, some folk are just determined to be indignant... which is a shame for them. The ability to laugh in the face of adversity is one of man's endearing traits.
If as I suspect most members use the 'Active topics' view of the database it's hard to see how putting jokes in their own section will make any difference whatsoever especially to those who insist on finding no humour in anything.... It would be interesting to see how many joke threads cause offence as opposed to jokes appended to non-joke threads...
Maybe the 'Active topics' view of the database should exclude the Jokes section... I for one would find the board less entertaining but if we must pander to those who don't relish badinage then that might help but in reality I don't see it making any meaningful difference.
Soner's pleas for sensitivity is as good as it gets I fear.

Re: COVID-19 postings
Any other ex-military, when they saw the title of this thread, immediately thought of “investigating the common cold virus at Porton Down”? You even got extra pay for it!
