Then TC citizens running away from the virus arrived, spreading the virus due to lack of adequate enforced quarantine .
Next week there are two plane loads of repatriated TC citizens coming again.
1, Will they be tested before getting on the plane? NO
2, Will they be tested landing in Turkey ? NO.
3, Will they be tested on arrival at Ercan? NO.

The TRNC seems to be getting its act together with shutdowns and curfews etc but in my opinion all countries should not repatriate citizens. And for the selfish idiots who went on holiday during this crisis and those who flout the rules theyshould not receive treatment if they fall ill.

This is what happened in the UK when the first planes from Asia came back to the UK.

Just one person on any of those planes who was infected, by the time it gets back to Ercan so many on the aircraft will have the Virus.

All persons coming to TRNC are put into compulsory 14 quarantine. Tests are not carried out at airports. people are loaded on to coaches and taken to hotels. Riverside, Palm Beach Colony and Malpas are currently being used. The tests are carried out after the 14 day period and thats where some of the positive cases have been identified, including 3 today and those infected are taken to hospital until clear of virus.

There is no reason why the passengers cannot be tested before getting on the plane except for they may test positive and be refused travel.

Why start this sort of stuff? Like Keith quite rightly posts it has already been stated that anyone coming into the TRNC will go into quarantine for 14 days. How do you know what testing is done at any of the places you mention? Do you have actual knowledge or are you just saying what you have been told by someone or is it something you have made your own mind up about?

When we arrived into Istanbul and Ercan some weeks ago before the situation worsened they were using thermal image cameras to check if anyone had a temperature.

This Government here appears to be taking it very seriously and of course they are reacting as things change. They have been proactive but sadly many people seem to think they know better and continue to go about their daily life as normal. Many have been arrested for breaking the curfew so it shows it is being taken seriously.

I cannot see how this thread assists anyone unless of course you have verifiable information that shows how the Authoroites are doing it all wrong. That being the case maybe instead of posting in here you could contact them.

Many families are separated at the moment and the TRNC are doing what they can to let their citizens back into the Country to be with their families after they have been quarantined. Sensible action. They are not letting them just get off the plane walk out of the Airport and disappear into who knows where and chance to infect others unlike the UK I have to say.

Not forgetting the test would be like the MOT on your car it just shows it was OK at that time on that day. Quarantine is the answer and they are doing that. I don't think anything else can be reasonably expected.

That's another problem, they were not quarantined for two weeks. The people at the riverside holiday village in alsancak for isolation were strolling around the village !
I know of a person who was told to go home and self quarantine for two weeks but was never checked on during that period. (LAPTA) FACT

All people coming into the TRNC now are not self quarantining you are quire right. They are being put into enforced quarantine. You mention Alsancak and this is why the three villages are now isolated with checks on people entering and leaving.

they are trying to find all the contacts of the 'quarantined' in alsancak but some won't name who they have been in contact with.

Sadly the rules appear to only apply to certain people and this is why this lockdown will continue. My understanding is that we are allowed to go to shop for essential food and items after which we return home.
Yet where I live people are visiting our neighbours to sit and drink tea, the other night one of the neighbours had a BBQ with several friends attending, which considering the home owner is a policeman makes me wonder how seriously the restrictions are being taken. Brazen, at least 3000 UK citizens who have been stranded in India will be returning early next week on a series of charter flights for which they are required to pay a capped proportion of the fare. Most countries are trying to bring their citizens back home. If, when UK is past its peek and on the safer downward path, they are then allowed back in it would be far more dangerous for the UK.

You must be on about the two funerals one in Lapta, the other in Karsyaka.
One attended by UK ex pat s 5 max,
the other by the whole family and friends.
Family loss can not be defined to anyone, my condolences to both.
