Will leave mine until May as well. I know quite a lot of people did it on line, but didn't work for me. I acknowledge it was probably my fault. Does that mean end of May or beginning of May? But oh crikey, the queues are going to be absolutely horrific aren't they. Dreading it in advance!!!

Can you actually renew a driving licence online??? Would be fantastic if you could. Same would be great for residency which is going to raise its head again soon I expect☹️

lee666. Did you apply for your renewal in person at the ministry office in Girne or online? Was the licence office open today then? Thought they were closed until further notice.

Dropshort, yes applied in person 5 weeks ago at the Girne office and yes office was open today. I want in there more than 90 seconds, no queues.

Had all the forms filled out photographs etc to renew d license planned to visit the office on Mon16th lockdown prevented that from happening.
Need to leave the house for essential supplies & medicines. license out of date. Not wishing to fall foul of the law being on the road without a current license decided to take a chance & call in to the licensing office in Girne at 9.30 am Friday 17th April .
It was open ,had to wait at the door ,have my temperature taken until I was called in.
No queue ,a bench in front of the counter with the window.
Handed over my documents got a receipt. Told to come back in a month . Not bothered if it's 2 months I'm safe now to travel for essential journeys.
Hope this helps,

Its now 9 weeks since I applied and have my receipt if I need to produce it, but would like to have the real thing if possible. I'm still unsure as to what days the office is open and now that the Alsancak blockade has stopped it means I can get into Girne.

Sorry I can't help as to what days they are open never asked.
As I said in my post It was Friday
Mostly dealing with tax issues I believe but the driving license desk was open other wise it wouldn't have been manned
Didn't ask about late application or fines either. Simply relieved to be legal once more, with the police stopping me and asking where I was going. I was going to the supermarket for supplies. Fortunately they didn't ask for my license. I'd been carrying the forms etc in the car since my license expired
Just thought I'd take a chance whilst I was out that way and it paid off.
