Re: Announcement from the Government
The council of ministers is meeting at 2 pm tomorrow, I would expect an announcement about the measures to be taken, relaxed or extended after this.
The current restrictions run until midnight tomorrow evening, so they have time to extend them if they decide to do so.

Re: Announcement from the Government
Thank you , I will await the announcement today, I just hope if they do relax the conditions, they are slightly clearer than they are now. I seek permissions weekly to carry out some tasks for customers who are in the uk and dare not do more than check, I had incorrectly assumed when the lockdown first happened there would be a procedure for legal workers put in place but after 10 days the procedure was apply for permission. The ones who live here I have not seen for 5 weeks but fully accept they will of been doing their own gardens and checking on their own house.
I do understand me going to an empty house and working in the garden and returning to my house with one other living there is not like the majority of people who work in gardens here, 20 going out to different areas then returning to a communal home hence why they have had to say no to garden working especially as there is no health risk like with pools.

I heard on BRT radio this morning that it's likely that current restrictions will go on until mid-May at least. Worst case scenario, end of year, second worst is October. Let's hope it's not too long or else we'll all be walking around looking like Rip van Winkle.

Whatever they say, I and I know a lot of other people feel that same , will perform S.D and take all other precautions we feel necessary until we are convinced the stats and peoples behaviour is safe to do so. Particularly in supermarkets, some of which are only playing at S.D. Over cautious maybe, but that's the way it is as far as I'm concerned.

A couple of UK citizens were practising SD very craftily this morning in SAH - he was walking around beside her pushing the trolley, he had is mask on but if anyone came close or got in the way then he started dry coughing - lets just hope it was a trick to get people to move because it certainly did with me!!!

Just as a matter of interest have you been around when someone was told they had a temperature? And if so, what happened if you have witnessed it? (Sorry off topic - but sort of relevant)

Re: Announcement from the Government
The Council of Ministers of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, with a view of preventing the spread of the corona virus, has extended the partial curfew and full curfew(21:00-06:00) together with the travel ban between districts until 30 April 2020.
The full curfew has been lifted in Dipkarpaz, Yenierenkoy and Sipahi, however, they will be subject to the same partial and full curfew with the other districts of the country. Also, the police control for the entry/exit to/from Dipkarpaz, Yenierenkoy, Sipahi and Karsiyaka,Lapta and Alsancak has been lifted.
We invite everyone to act with a sense of responsibility for our health and safety and to help the police.
I wish everyone would understand the last sentence, today I have been informed by a customer all the gardens around him were visited by their garden maintenance people last week plus one lady's cleaner has never stopped visiting throughout the 5 weeks.

snd1966, which goes to explain why I and a lot of other people will decide themselves when they consider it safe to venture out as we all used to. What worries me is when he Government consider all is well, it will be like thousands of lemmings going over a cliff with caution thrown to the wind., irrespective of nationality.

Re: Announcement from the Government
To be fair to the gardeners and cleaner they might need that money to survive?
Personally I took the decision to keep paying gardeners etc and told them not to visit.
Those who can afford to take responsibility should do so and realise that some don't have that luxury.

Re: Announcement from the Government
Yes I am a legal worker here, but what they call a third national, ok I am in a better position than most of my fellow on the ground garden workers but I just wish the essential services in the private sector was a little clearer as it must be frustrating for my customers to be told by me no I can not tend to your garden but see companies from Lefkosa with a van turn up to attend one neighbour and another company attend somebody else.EnjoyingTheSun wrote: ↑Sat 18 Apr 2020 11:38 amTo be fair to the gardeners and cleaner they might need that money to survive?
