Advice please.

My car tax should be renewed on May 1st. Due to the lock down will I still be able to use my car until I am able to renew?

Thanx for any replies. :+1:)

Normally you have one month to renew without penalty, from 1st to 31st May. At the moment, they are not fining if you are late playing. However, it is possible to renew online, instructions are in Turkish and English.

NB it should be done in the name of the first person named on logbook.

1. It may only work if you registered your details by text to 1300 in July time
2. Go to this website https://bub.gov.ct.tr/en-us/
3. Scroll down to see the AKOS online payment and click it
4. Follow the instructions, reg no., passport number used when purchasing the vehicle preceded by a P, date of registration from front of log book and the verification code and submit
5. If that works it should bring up your car details, so you can do that process anytime.
6. On the LHS, the first option should be to pay tax, click on that
7. Next page should show one line with all the details, when due, how much, etc. There is a tick box that you must complete then click submit.
8. Complete your payment details and if successful, it will tell you to print out your tax disc, you can also save a copy. The printed tax disc should be kept in the car.

Good luck and sorry if I've got anything wrong, but really it's self explanatory.

It is fairly easy to do on line. I have done it so it must be BUT a word of caution it is fussy about what card you use for payment. I tried a local Bank Debit card and it would not accept it. In the end I used Revolut.

Thank you. Just did mine online and your instructions were spot on. I used Revolut pay and I was directed to the app to authorise the payment.
I must say a big increase on last year even with 10% discount.

I used Revolut too, quite a few people have reported trouble getting a debit card, in particular, accepted.

Should have mentioned that I don't think that it works 24/7, perhaps that's why there have been problems with payments...

I am in UK at present due to the lock down and not sure when we will be back in Cyprus.. I have been able to pay my car tax online today using UK credit card and no, I did not get the text last year to register the car. I did have some trouble inputting our details as the car is registered in joint names. I sent an e mail as recommended on the website and received a response within 30 mins. With this help I was able to complete the process and with a 10% discount!
At last, TRNC is getting it's act together.

Only joking, I agree, it is encouraging to see gradual improvements!

Domain name above is missing the letter "r" at the end.

It does work. I have just been using it and they are coming back straightaway.

I used google translate this morning as my email to them yesterday has not been replied to as yet.

If you send them your plate number with no spaces they reply with the information they hold for you eg passport and date of registration which is written on the front of your log book anyway. The passport number is Pxxxxxxx etc. There is no GBR. Good Luck and Dtay Safe.

Thank you
I am very impressed with this service
Email back clearly stating where I was going wrong MŞ not MS followed by the business number plus the date of registration was the date the vehicle was put in the business name not when the vehicle was registered.

Unfortunately the system has not registered the MOT the vehicle had in December 2019 but after sending a copy of it an email has been received to state they have passed it to the relevant department and will get back to me.

They get my gold star and A+ especially with their customer focus
