Car share

Dear Kibcomers,
I wonder if there are anyone on here who are in a similar position to myself, currently only able to come over to Cyprus a few times a year?

I wondered just how easy and convenient (and economical) it would be for a group to purchase and run a car together? Maybe similar to a timeshare?

Then the interested parties (or stakeholders) could have use of the vehicle when they are over. Costs would be split equally etc. instead of hiring a car each time?

It may not be cheaper than renting, or practical (for example the group would have to be fairly local to each other), or workable (disagreements etc). Although a contract could be drawn up.

But as an intellectual excersize at least, any thoughts on this idea?
There are similar schemes in London and other countries.

I understand where you are coming from as we come over 2/3 times maybe but we are a bit of the beaten track at Sea Terra Reserve Tatlisu. I think Catalkoy is just outside Kyrenia but at least the same side as us so I'm not sure how it would work for you and me but you have raised a very good point and with a bit more input we could get a few better matches.
Heres hoping we get some good feedback.

also dont forget the car has to be in someones name and usually people who don't live here tend to come out at the same times
