Forest fire near reservoir?
I have noticed reports of a forest fire in Tepebasi but as my Turkish is not good have no idea how serious it is. Anyone have more info please? Hopefully it can be contained quickly.

Hi ozankoys,
Found this...
According to the information obtained from the Police Press Officer, the fire that started in the village of Gönendere at 11.30 am was taken under control and cooling works are still going on. According to the first determinations as a result of the fire, uncut barley and many olive trees burned in the area between Gönendere - Pınarlı villages in an area of approximately 250 decares.

According to Cyprium News and Cyprus Mail it is not under control. The south have sent a plane and turkey have sent helicopters to help with the blaze. Students from the university have been evacuated and Akinci, Tatar and Ozersay have been there. Looks very bad.

Thank you have seen a lot of posts now on FB the situation looks dire. Normally winds drop when it gets dark so hopefully this should help the fire fighters. Let us all hope that nobody is injured.
