UK Covid tests!,
For those who hope their family or friends will be coming over during the normal school holidays It would seem that the test required will cost £200 per person and can only be done in London or Manchester. Just not going to be practical !!

Had ours done in private clinic in London £150 including signed doctors certificate. Still very expensive though

Probably OK if you live close to London and perhaps if you plan to be here several weeks but a family of 4 who live elsewhere, maybe not. A two week break would be extremely expensive!!

Re: UK Covid tests!,
If you google PCR tests lots of options for private tests come up. Not cheap, but other option is to book a government test & go to a test centre. Morally right ????

Informed tonight people who had a nhs covid test was told in turkey it was not the correct one and they have been returned to uk.
If this is true surely the airline should inform you of the paperwork required.
The stress must be unbelievable....

To be honest I really don't see why people attempt to visit anywhere in Europe this year (on holiday that is) Clearly countries don't always agree as to correct paperwork, so its a risk wherever people go to. Stay at home if UK, if that's home for you. OK, at the moment the weather isn't exactly wonderful, but rather a bit of rain, rather than put up with being sent back, or whatever.

Oh crikey, that's awful, sorry, it wasn't made obvious as to where they actually lived. I wonder which airline it was.

I also saw a story about a 71 year old man who came from Dublin. Apparently his certificate was not worded correctly, so sent back to Turkey. Surely if we need a certificate there should be somewhere we can check what is required to be written on it.

I must admit I am being very slow but it was not until I read Cyprus mail today I had assumed all people on the flight had PCR tests, now I know its only when you land, so you are stuck in a metal tube, with your PCR as you are from the UKthinking you are safe but nationals and others don't get tested until they land. Its easy to know why the figures are going up but also the risk of infecting others and people say to me who have recently arrived I am healthy i am catergory A, tell me that in 14 days time.
