Just to let as many of our regular members know as possible - the library has now closed for a period of approx 8 weeks. This is to enable the builders to put on a new roof and interior ceiling and also carry out other essential repairs.

We have been unable to find an alternative building so all the books will be in storage for the time that we are closed. If you have friends who use the library but do not access this forum please could you let them know what is happening.

As soon as we have a re-opening date I will post this on Kibcom, details will also appear in Cyprus Today.

Er,. hum, cough, cough, oh dear.... etc etc.

Why only CyprusToday. What is wrong with the 3000 readers of Cyprus star that they cannot be informed also????

what have done to offend????

and I am not being sarcastic - just wondered why only Cyprus Today????

We have used Cyprus Today because we have a very helpful personal contact who has been following our progress during the process of trying to get repairs done and source storage and/or new premises. She has been putting editorial in the paper and giving us publicity at no cost to the Kyrenia Society. Because we are a Society funded solely by donations we cannot affod to take advertising space in the paper.

Would you be prepared to be our contact with the Cyprus Star? If so we would be most grateful

Of course, Muffin. I would have chartered your progress and asked for help, if I had known about it. So please contact me. We are very concerned at The Star about keeping local news and needs to the forefront as we all feel that community is important and those who serve the community as important. And if you read the Star you will see we do our best to cover all the charities etc, etc. We cannot do advertisements for free, but we can do editorial. Of course for me that is more important as editorial can say more, and I for one don't read adverts as |I am not looking for anything (if you know what I mean). So please make me your contact. I do hope you get sorted soon, because I know the library has served the public here for a long time and is a very valuable service to many.
