If a neighbours trees overhang my property am I allowed to cut them and what do I do with the spoil

I would advise ' proper legal' opinion here. Have you asked your neighbour to trim them, if so, what was the answer? If no, would there be an objection if you trimmed them? If yes, you definitely need a legal perspective as the 'lawful' way ahead. There are also laws preventing tree felling/interference as many are protected (olives etc). What type of trees? You may well need 'official permission', permit etc.
Many local authorities will clear the branches, mostly at a cost and by an appointment.

Our neighbour rang the police who asked me to cut my bougie as our neighbour could not cut it according to the policeman even though i had told him he could. I recommend customers get an authorised letter from their neighbour if they ask me to cut trees.

Common Law states cut the overhang and offer the cuttings to the neighbour.
