In much the same vein as "Would you report a drink driver you have witnessed drinking excessively then driving away, a drug using driver in the same manner as a drink driver, a person indiscriminately firing a shotgun, a person obviously in trouble whilst swimming, etc" All of those or potential life threatening actions.

Would I - YES - and I have and will continue to do so provided I can provide proof! That regardless of the uniform, nationality or relationship with any other person.

Life is precious! You only get one, don't waste it!

Just spoke to several people and apparently the people concerned couldn't give a flying f@#k about the rest of us as they intend to return to the UK in a few weeks.
They have been in contact with anyone everyone from day one of their isolation period. What do you do, we are not the only ones who know going into local bar and restaurants.

What is the point of going onto a forum telling people about something that has happened, in your opinion, then people give you their opinions and when you get someone saying “call the Police” you say “and then what”.

It’s YOUR call. Do what your conscious tells you to do or quite frankly go about your own business and protect yourself and your family. That is all you can do.

Absolutely report them to the police, and the sooner the better. I don't give a flying fig about a lot of people, but would hate to pass on to anyone this horrible disease if I had it, and remember it can be unknowingly, to anyone, so act responsibly and wear a mask and distance myself, as many of us are. These people signed a bit of paper on arrival agreeing to self-isolation, and they have broken the conditions. Don't think any more about it, do the right thing.
The police will know what to do, it's really nothing to do with you after reporting, other than possibly a statement for police....you do your bit, and let the police handle the rest.

Good get out that is - so report the people that told you - it’s called track and trace! Then again, just go about your daily toil and do nothing in the hopes that you DO recognise them before the get close enough to you!

On BBC news this morning they were explaining that Quarantine in UK at least, is far more stringent than self isolation and many people rushing back from Croatia etc didn't seem to be aware. Whether they take any notice is a different matter.

"These persons have put you all at risk.
You are obliged to report them immediately to the police. It is your DUTY."

- and if they will not do so, then report THEM to the police, otherwise YOU are putting all of US at risk.

Many people on social media are complaining about all of the regulations now being enforced but they are for a reason. I think this side of the island got off very lightly before whether that be to luck or the good work of the authorities I leave it to others to decide. I doubt any of us want to return to full lock down again nor do we want to have our travel restricted to and fro from wherever.

So having said all of that then it must follow surely that if we see someone breaking the quarantine then the best thing for all is to report them to the authorities. It isn't like grassing up a neighbour while working on the dole or anything trivial it is protecting us all from being at risk yet again from this virus.

It is a no brainer. There is someone on our small site who I feel fairly sure will break their quarantine or their partner will. If I see them do that I will do something about it because I strongly believe we cannot whinge and moan about others putting lives at risk then do nothing when we witness it.

If anyone knows of someone breaking quarantine rules, or knows of someone who knows but have done nothing about it ,then if this virus spreads they are as guilty as the people breaking the rules.
It's ok to say that YOU would be able to recognise them, but we won't, how do we know if we're next to them in the shop/bank etc. We all have a responsibility to each other so do what needs to be done.

My last night of quarantine tonight. It's been a bind but I knew what to expect and it's for a serious reason.

I cannot believe the question was even asked to be honest, and it seems to me that someone on here knows exactly who these people are, who have supposedly broken rules and possibly now spreading it. Of course anyone should report these low lifes to the police, it is a no brainer is it not? Why would anyone protect them when so many are doing the right thing. What on earth would anyone think it’s ok not to report. Thank goodness we actually avoid anywhere where ex pats might frequent.

Waddo, as I have said before the places I go, Erols, Hoots, and others are sadly suffering due to lack of customers, mainly tourists and swallows, hence we are able to social distance easily. The point is, if people are going to ignore the requirements then they are potentially putting others at risk. We are not just talking about bars or restaurants but anywhere close contact may occur also puts people at risk and those who choose to ignore the requirements should have more respect for others. I am sure you did not intend to sound sarcastic by the way, have a good day!

This is about someone who is a particular risk because they are new in the country or they have been in contact with a carrier, I presume. Different to the average Joe or Josefina going about their business. We all need to mask up, wash hands frequently and socially distance but this person is acting like an arrogant pr**k.

A friend reported non conformers who would not quarantine, to the police in Lapta to be told nothing they can do.

Mrsgee, I must remember to put lol in capitals, sorry, all meant in fun. It’s not only ex pats we avoid through, we have been trying to pluck up the courage to go to Erol’s for weeks and not made it yet. The whole thing is crazy if you think too hard about it and sadly as we are both ex military and well trained we tend to overthink the issue, getting better at going out now but still shy away from people.
DieHard, May be wrong here but I don’t think that your “local” police force, village police, have any such powers anyway. It needs to be reported to the main police such as Girne for this district.

Clearly there are some serious allegations of a person/persons not isolating as they are required to do.

Rather than continue the allegation via this forum, if you know that this is happening then please report it to the relevant authorities.
