According to http://www.gundemkibris.com/seyahat-bel ... 49689h.htm , on Wednesday of this week, Michael Anthony Hatfield, whilst under the influence of alcohol hit a post supporting overhead power cables on the main Girne-Güzelyurt road. In the report it doesn’t give the exact location, but one presumes it was somewhere close to Lapta because the damage caused part of the village and surrounding area to lose power for some time.
Mete Erdinç of the Lapta Police Station said the investigation into the accident was now complete and they were awaiting a date for the court case. As a precaution to prevent absconding the police are keeping Hatfield’s passport.
According to the report, Hatfield was driving with his dog at the time. When the ambulance arrived he apparently told the medics to help his dog before himself.

No sympathy from me I'm afraid.
Why should people think its acceptable to put others at risk by getting in a car when they have had one too many?

Puppylover, Wibow, well said, hope they 'throw the book at him'.
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
