Router IPTV box problem.
Good afternoon.
We have had a new internet system fitted this morning together with a new router. After the fitters had gone we turned on our TV which was not receiving any TV signal from the router so we entered the new router login info into the IPTV box. It accepted the info and connected to the new router but would not play any programmes. We have hardwired the connection from the IPTV box to the router and also tried it with WIFI but neither is working.
We have established we are getting quite good speed with the new system and our computers are working OK.
We still have access to our previous internet provider and the router we used with them and when we reconnect to that system/router the IPTV system works OK so we know there is no problem with our IPTV box.
Does any computer buff out there have any idea what needs to be done to fix the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a shot in the dark - did you have to provide the MAC address of your router to your IPTV provider on your old router?
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

One for Erol, try pm him.
My Kodi box was fading away with old age with much buffering so installed 'live nettv' on my laptop with a hdmi cable to the tv after bluestack & mx installation through google play store and works a lot better. All live uk tv, sports, films etc. Need to change sound source in settings from laptop to tv and easy to reverse. No computer wiz-kid taking 2 days to resolve but got there in the end!!

Following on from this, does anyone know the answer to the following.
I am with Lifecell digital, the receiver was plugged in to a TPlink router buy the young man who installed it, I have a password etc for access.
If I wanted to plug in a new router, what would I need to do to set it up?
I am a bit of a tech numpty!
thanks

Re: Router IPTV box problem.
Do you mean a new router in addition to the one you have or instead of? If it is instead of all you have to do is set up the router as per the clear and simple instructions that come with them all. You can use whatever password you like for it when you set it up including the one you already have. If it is in addition to the one you have then that depends if you can connect it direct to your cable or if it has to be connected via the original router. That is a tad more complicated and maybe best to get the young man to come and back and set it up for you.frugal90 wrote: ↑Wed 17 Mar 2021 6:18 pmFollowing on from this, does anyone know the answer to the following.

Re: Router IPTV box problem.
Hi everyone and many thanks for your assistance.
Waddo. No we have never been asked for the MAC address by anyone.
Chriswright03. The router is new as our old one has been used for a long time and we decided it needed renewing.
We are going to try and set up the router this morning. I know that all routers are different but should there be a facility in the set up procedure to enable IPTV ? Just a thought.
Many thanks.

Re: Router IPTV box problem.
The IPTV provider requires your MAC box number. If you go into settings on the MAC box it will tell you the router it is paired with.
You could also try contacting your IPTV supplier and ask him if the box is active. He should be able to tell you, and also which channel you are watching.

I bought a new TP Link router from Acdinc a couple of years ago and he set it up for me. Took it home, plugged it in and it worked perfectly. No hassle.

Next door to Funky Divaz in Karakum, same block as Red Ribbon, just before entrance to Metropol supermarket if coming from Girne. He's very good on computer and electrical stuff, really helpful and gives good, honest advice. Highly recommended.

The only time he couldn't raise Phoenix from the ashes was when he had to admit that the battery in my Kindle had died and couldn't be revived. He was as disappointed as I was!!
