Sorry, l cannot recommend anyone to build stone wall to you. I’ve had a few built by 🤡🤡 mascarading as 👷‍♂️👷‍♂️.

I hope your dry stone wall project in no way has a retaining wall aspect to it. If it does perhaps reinforced concrete wall, faced with stone, on deep and wide concrete footings, would be the way to go. Finished look would be same or very similar to a dry stone wall.

Allow for water to run through if any possibility water (eg rain or run off) may build up one side of your wall.

a1sysman. Totally agree re letting run through the stone wall. For reasons too complicated to go into, three years ago we had to have a 30yard stone wall built, varying from 12ft to 20ft high. I was extremely concerned that the old bloke and his 16 yr old assistant were just measuring the flint and placing them one on top of the other. Having seen other walls, I asked when was he going to cement the gaps and he was horrified by the thought. NEVER was the answer. The wall was built to hold up banking and the last thing we needed was a build up of water on one side. People seem to demand the gaps be tarted up, and maybe if its just a surrounding wall, then that's OK.

I have used a guy and his team many times and would recommend him highly . I have seen his work around e country and I think his work his very good indeed . It’s not dry stone walling as they do use cement unlike the dry stone walling in the U.K. . If you need water to flow through he does provide escape routes as necessary . If you want his number so you can discuss I will provide it if you PM me. Also he will provide photographs showing his skills and if you want to see it in the flesh so to speak more than welcome to have a look at mine
