Bah humbug
Currently sat in the Pandemic Hospital waiting area having had a positive PCR test yesterday.
Hopefully it’ll be home quarantine for the next ten days

Re: Happy Christmas
Thank you.
It was a long haul but got there in the end. Now ensconced at home with my wrist band tracker - the same as we had to use when we got back to the TRNC after our 18-month Covid enforced absence last August.
In case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation (heaven forbid), my first problem was where is the “Pandemic Hospital”. Google couldn’t find it but the very helpful lady who called from the Health Ministry after my result had filtered through told me to look for “Lefkoşa Acil Durum Hastanesi” and there it was behind the State Hospital.
There was a lot of waiting but I can’t fault the overall system. I was eventually directed first for a chest x-ray then to the doctor. To my shame an interpreter had to be brought in so that she could ask me the relevant questions.
Once satisfied that home quarantine was possible I waited a short while again then went to the Guvende Kal section to have my wrist band issued. Being familiar with the app from our previous experience I’d already inputted all the required info and was ready to simply scan the wrist band. This was done expertly by a young man and Mowgli was on his way - not back to bed as he’d originally hoped but feeling much better and so his Christmas dinner is now cooking.
Again I have to thank everyone involved for their grace and helpfulness towards this yabancı yaşlı adam who despite his best efforts has reached the stage where those little grey cells are unable to remember even the English words for lots of things, let alone learn a whole new vocabulary. This truly is a wonderful country with the most gracious people.
Herkese çok teşekkür ederim!

Re: Happy Christmas
Glad to hear that you are able to self-isolate Mowgli, hope that you don't feel too bad and get well soon.
Completely understand where you are coming from with the old grey cells not able to retain English, let alone Turkish, it's so frustrating. You are not alone!
