Postpone military service

Hi all,

My son has entered TRNC for first time since 18+, so needs to get his "Military Service Postponement Exit paper".

I understand he must goto Lefkoşa to "KKTC Polis Muhaceret Müdürlüğü" to obtain "entry exits giriş-çıkış dökümleri" to take to the "Asal Şube'.

I've found Asal Şube' on Google Maps, but can't find Muhaceret. Anybody know where it is a to save running around.

Go over mountain and keep straight on past Arun flour mill, past the old CTA office traffic lights you will come yo a. Toundaboutwith a war memorial on itgo straight on as if to Kyrenia gate but keep in left lane the ere is a t junction the last building on the left is the one you want

Thanks, from what you describe that's the Asal Şube on the corner, and the end of the road opposite where Sun Rent a Car is.

I think the police headquarters is the one for the entry/exit documents.

That's where my partners and her son had to go to get the postponment

He's got it sorted. Two step process:
1) Goto to the back of the Police Headquarters in Nicosia and get the Entry/Exit statement.
1a) Cross the road and buy 20TL worth of stamps to stick on above.
2) Goto to Army office on the corner as described above and get the exit paper.

I read on their website that the paper is valid forever, and my one is 20+ years old. But he was told it's only valid as long as the passport, and when his passport renews in a couple of years he'll have to renew that too.. Is that true/changed, or incorrect info given by clerk?

Just looking at my paper, there is no link between that and my passport. In fact I've only just noticed that it has my family's post 74 surname on there, even though (at the time) I didn't have citizenship or any ID with that name on, let alone my passport.

It's also worth adding that for whatever reason they never ask for this paper if you're crossing the border in Nicosia and flying in and out of the Island from Larnaca. In 17 years the only time I have ever been asked to produce this paper is when flying from Ercan.

I’m interested to know if it needs renewing too. Son in laws passport runs out next year.
