I posted this a little while ago and am now reposting it - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=57013&p=293368&hilit=maths#p293368
To keep my mind active, I'd like to give some lessons. Firstly I should tell you I'm a British national with Qualified Teaching Status from the UK, now living in the greater Girne area.
In my time, I have taught all ages from 11 to 18 ... and I would consider tutoring any child from a year 7 SEN pupil up to an A' level Further Maths or IB HL student.
As for payment, I wouldn't be asking anything for the lesson, but would ask you to consider my fuel costs to and from your place and any necessary photocopying expenditure. Tea and a few biscuits would also be appreciated

Another requirement of mine would be that the pupil(s) be motivated - As you can appreciate, if I'm doing the lessons for no financial gain, then I don't want to spend my time with pupils who lack motivation.
From your point of view, you should be concerned about safeguarding. To allay your fears I can provide you with a recent DBS check from the UK authorities. And, if necessary, I can also provide references from schools that I've worked in.
I can assure this is a sincere offer - my wife has suggested I keep myself busy ... and it might sound corny, but during my teaching days, I used to get a great deal of pleasure when I was able to help pupils.
I'm sure there will be people on this forum who will question my motives, but I can assure you they are all quite benign. Should you be interested, then please PM me, or better still, send an email to trnc.maths.teacher@gmail.com
