Olive Tree removal

The builders near me have dug up and trashed two established Olive trees.

Someone had said that this is not allowed, just wondering if anyone knew if that's correct.

Not a nice thing to do, according to this video they are protected.

I was told years ago that all olive trees have there own kocan.

The Girne office for the Forestry Department is approx 150m from the Girne state hospital (Dr Akçiçek hastanesi) opposite side of the main road, back in the direction of the central car park if coming from the hospital direction. There is likely to be an English speaker at the Forestry Department office.
