Locked or not

Got a phone registered for opening our complex gate. It's a UK number, but doesn't seem to connect. In the past the number was on a previous phone which had used a trnc SIM. We migrated the number to a new UK provider and that SIM is in a new phone.

Would the number have locked the new phone, is that how it works or am I all wrong and it's something else??

We also have a similar 'call for entry' system. The phone number we call FROM has to be registered and recognised within the entry system and access is not authorised from any unrecognised numbers.
Maybe your system works in the same way?

The number has been entered but doesn't connect. However the UK number of my partner works fine. We are wondering if the phone is locked here. Anyone know how to check??

Type *#06# on your phone to see the IMEI number of your phone or visit

http://www.bthkmcks.org/imei-sorgulama/ and click on the IMEI Query button to see f your device is registered.

The "phone number" you are required to type in IMEI query page must be the phone number you use with the device you wanted to query.

If you are yet to use the device with a number, you can use another device to make a query.

If you get a message stating that "No information found for your device", or "your device is temporarily available", then your device is not registered.

If your query has returned "Open to use IMEI" or "IMEI open to use with certain subscriber number", then the IMEI number of your phone has been registered. However, if your device fresh from abroad and you didn't register it through MCKS, then IMEI of your phone will be considered as stolen and/or cloned, and closed by MCKS.

If you have bought the device at an point of sale in TRNC, you don't have to register your device, you can use it without any problem. However, you should always ask for the MCKS registration from the relevant point of sale before purchasing your device.

If you are already using your device with one of the Telsim or KKTCell GSM sim cards, the IMEI number of your device has been automatically saved to the system if you have used your device in the country before 18 April 2016.

If you have a device or devices with IMEI number that are not actively used with one of your Telsim and/or KKTCell SIM cards, you can register your device by contacting the subscriber registration center of Telsim or KKTCell operators.

We registered the phone today, and now appears to be unlocked. I managed to send a text to the phone from my trnc phone but couldn't phone it. Am I right in saying that calling a UK phone which is in trnc from a turkcell number would mean using 00 44 then drop the 0?? Strange we managed to text it but couldn't call it??

From here, if you are calling a UK number from a TRNC registered phone using a TRNC SIM number you will need to use the international code for UK which can be either 0044 or +44, and yes, you drop the leading zero from the number you are calling.

You may need to check with your TRNC network provider (Turkcell) the TRNC SIM has allow international calls switched on.

Your UK phone package, does it include international (Turkey) use? Roaming switched on?

Perhaps the non working number could be deleted from the gate opening software and then re-introduced to the system. See if that works.

Btw, a UK phone with a UK SIM, can be used here indefinitely without need to register the phone here.

It is only when the phone’s SIM is changed to a TRNC phone network SIM and used here does the registration grace period start counting down.

We ran UK network phones for years here without ever registering the UK phones. Now we use dual SIM phones with dual IMEI, with these phones now registered here.
