5tl coin
Perhaps its me, but yesterday for the first time I received the above in change. I handed it as a 1tl coin and didn't realised until till girl handed it to me.

They've been around for a while and you have to look carefully to tell the difference in size.

It was a genius move. We have a highest note that has a value of less than a fiver but decide to bring out a 10p coin identical to a 2p either of which is pretty much worthless.

That was my point I handed in as a 1tl and lady on till handed it me back. Its so flimsy I reckon you bend it without too much trouble.

It's a commemorative coin, struck to celebrate 100 years of Türkiye becoming a republic.

You can sort of make that out if you look carefully but the impression on the metal is pretty poor.
