To the point where my hot water solar panel pipes bursted

Oh heck Soner, not good at all. You can't be without hot water in this weather.
I thought last night and today have been the coldest I have ever known here, and then read in the news of the coldest temps recorded here since 1975. I don't know what it went down to in Tatlisu, but it's flipping baltic.

Have still got hot water by flipping the element switch, just have to turn pump off when not using hot water because the panels leak. Have new panels being put up on Thursday, so all is good.

Really looking into insulating property for both winter and summer. It's either too cold or too hot.

That's not quite so bad then, and at least it will be sorted soon.

Can only agree with you regarding insulation, it should be installed as a matter of course when building. Dread to think what it would cost though.

i have watched some villas putting a sort of insulation tile on the exterior followed by a render

When we build our house we chose to use external wall bricks with a centre layer of insulation. We also had rock wool insulation placed in the false ceilings in all our rooms.

Not saying a perfect solution but it has helped in summer and winter.

When I see the snow on the mountains of Turkiye and the wind flattening some trees and the sea resembling what we lived with facing the North sea, then I know its going to be cold but I never ever realised it would go to less than -4deg on Sunday night in Alsancak. Bedrooms were 4 deg and floor tiles were too cold to walk on. Can't remember a colder period since we moved here in 2004 and I hope I never have to again.

exactly the reason that I had wood laminate floors installed ( tescomar,catalkoy) and for the summer, ceiling fans to circulate the room ,a/c on for an hour before bedtime, switch off and put the fans on

Oh no, I don't care about the heat, especially with the prices as they are now. Its never too hot, well not yet that is , global warming might make me change my mind.

Live in an Australian style bungalow with double brick - air gap - external walls, double glazing all around so should be nice and cozy! However, the big problem is the ceiling! All the ceilings are suspended on wires from the roof ties, you can't walk anywhere in the loft as there are no boards or beams to walk on, only the tops of the inside walls - very dodgy that!

That brings me to the question - How can I insulate the loft space and with what?

All suggestions welcome. Thanks.
