I have been with an E card site for many years, with few or no problems, last couple of days it says

Access Denied You don't have permission to access on this server.

Cleared Cache, turned everything off, deleted site re installed, tried a different browser, and other device still wont all access.
I have emailed the company as yet no response

Help Please... but no in-depth tech speak I'm not that good with technology (:Q)
Thank you in advance.

My wife has been experiencing issues with her internet connection on her Samsung phone and Windows laptop. It turned out to be a problem with AVG after an update. AVG advised her to uninstall and reinstall AVG, which resolved the issue. Could it be a similar VPN issue?

Hi, it's probably no consolation, but when I try to access the Jacqui Lawson E-card service, either by typing jacquilawson.com into a browser or by using the app on my phone, I get the same error!

However, if I turn a UK VPN on, then it works! - this never used to be necessary, so I don't know what they're playing at...

If you do not currently use a VPN or know what a VPN is, then I think that you probably don't have one...

It's not worth going for a fully fledged 'paid for' VPN if you only need it for one website, so: -

Google 'free uk vpn chrome extension', pick one of the recommended offerings & follow the instructions to use it.

I tried too and access denied. I tried with Windscribe free VPN browser extension in Google Chrome and got in. As KC said, no point in you paying for a VPN for one website.

Thank you….. what is a VPN ???

A VPN, which stands for virtual private network, establishes a digital connection between your computer and a remote server owned by a VPN provider, creating a point-to-point tunnel that encrypts your personal data, masks your IP address, and lets you sidestep website blocks and firewalls on the internet. E,g. CyperGhost etc

What tutor4u said. Basically it can make you appear to be somewhere else e.g. UK, to bypass website blocking.

It won't interfere with your wi-fi connection. A VPN can slow things down a bit particularly if streaming, but you should be totally fine with just accessing that website, and switch it on/off on your browser.
It definitely does look like a VPN is now required for that website, they obviously have done something and either don't like Turkey/North Cyprus ISP's or maybe even a broader base and blocked them. I only checked using normal ISP here and UK vpn. Hopefully they will come back to you with an answer.

Have a look at NordVPN, which I use in NC and when I'm travelling on my computer, mobile & iPad. I disagree with going for a free VPN. You get what you pay for is a wise saying. Nord VPN often have deals on offer. There are many other such VPN's i.e. Surfshark. I suggest you look on YouTube about what a VPN is and how to use it. I also use it on my Apple TV here and abroad to watch UK TV etc.

Jeremy S, whilst I absolutely agree with what you say about using a paid VPN, and I have one. It's hardly relevant for Poppy as it is only wanted to access one website, presumably from time to time, and not for streaming. A free VPN should be all that is needed in this particular case.

Poppy, if you haven't already got yourself sorted with a free VPN extension, I would recommend Windscribe, been using it for years before I went with a paid VPN/DNS service, and still have it as a back up. (Actually Windscribe has a paid for version too).

and more info at https://windscribe.com/features/chrome/

Thanks KC, am glad I am on the right track for once.

I did on one occasion have a problem with Jaquie Lawson as I have two email addresses and with no real fault of theirs the annual subscription was taken on both. (that was when they were taken over by an American company.) A couple of messages back and forth saved the day. Most of the trouble was with me as somehow or another over the years I had supplied two password.

This is just pure guesswork, but my IP shows sometimes as Turkey, whereas my IP from previous provider showed as Cyprus. Perhaps the site doesn't like Turkish IP and a Cyprus one is ok? My ISP is Veezynet, but is supplied through Nethouse, if that is of any help Poppy.
At least you know you can access via your phone and even hotspot phone to your laptop or whatever you use to browse internet normally.

Have you connected to London Crumpets? That's the free version. (Press world map thingy on the extension, drop down menu, come down to UK, press +, further dropdown menu and choose London Crumpets, press back arrow, then press big button which will turn green when connected.....this is using Windscribe Extension in Chrome).

I've just retested using Windscribe extension and can definitely get into that website.

No you don't need to log out, just disconnect that button when you are finished using VPN. Am so glad between us all, we got you sorted out without any dosh getting parted with. The 10GB allowance resets every month, and is pretty generous for a freebie, plus it's pretty reliable and secure.
