Mouldy Milk

My last few 1l containers of Koop skimmed milk (yarim yagli sut 1.5%) have contained 90% white water and 10% creamy sludge. I.e. the milk has separated. It did not smell "off" and I have not died a gruesome death from food poisoning so I imagine that the UHT process worked. However, something has gone wrong somewhere and the risks must increase once the container has been opened.
Mine are going back to the supermarket.

Thanks for the warning as I've got a few unopened in the fridge. Do you have dates for the affected milk?

I have experienced the same problem with identical milk purchased from an Ozankoy market. It appears to be curdled .No smell but very unusual taste in my tea and cornflakes. I have thrown out at least 3 cartons. The sell by dates were ok.

This has been happening on and off for quite a long time with KOOP. in fact if you think back it actually disappeared off the shelves for a few months last year. I actually checked on the dates and although they were not out of date, but were close. and it wasn't identical. It could be poor storage though and the authorities need to check it out. I've stopped buying it particularly as it is usually the most expensive. Took mine back back to supermarket but as it was within date, it wasn't considered of interest.

The end date was 17 April 2026.
The shop exchanged the cartons. New ones dated 25th May. They seem ok.
