Airlines Threaten Suspension of Flights at Ercan
Following meeting a couple of weeks ago Onur, Atlas & Pegasus asked for info from the government regarding massive increases in costs at Ercan, as usual the government have not responded. This is part of response from airlines -
"All three airlines say that their previous protests to the government have not been answered. They are now imposing a deadline and that unless the government responds to their letter, they will meet on April 22nd to decide on suspending flights. These flight suspensions will be announced beforehand and will be for periods of between one day and one week."

With South in economic turmoil and Cyprus Air under threat of close down any sensible person would be doing all they could to promote Ercan.
Makes you wonder which asylum this shower escaped from.

I wonder where you stand, if like me you have booked and paid for return flights with Pegasus in advance? If this is all down to the new owners of Ercan airport and the landing fees they have increased, can the Government do anything about it?

As you say Sophie Ercan is now privatised so its down to the new operators I would think. There was a statement from the government a while ago and they said the increases were not as high as the airlines claimed.

And who believes anything this government says, or any other for that matter. How do you know when a politician is lying - their lips are moving!!!!!!
The only airport, like electricity supplier should not be in private hands they are public utilities and what is happening is what the majority stated when privatization was muted. So I believe the problem lies entirely with the government and they must sort it out otherwise it will be good bye airlines flying to Ercan.
Sophie, We have tickets booked same as you and if the flight does not happen I know who to blame and it is not the airline who have clearly stated their position and that Ercan is already the most expensive airport in Turkey so why should they service an airport that clearly does not want their business.

So what happens to people who have already booked there flights
My husband has got a flight booked for end of April
and we both have flights booked for June
So who will it be down to, to refund our fares if it happens
