SIba chemicals alsancak
Has anyone bought chlorine lately from here as normally the 90% blows your head off when you open it but this stuff is crap and its like dust not granuals and has no plastic bag inside sealing it as before, its almost like the remains left from the granuals. My friend took one back last week but they wouldn't change it because they said it may of had the lid left off but mine has not been opened until today and only bought it yesterday and £50 is not cheap. I would take it back but I used some before realizing it had no smell.

I agree-good quality chlorine should knock your head off when you open it.
I buy mine from Topclean on the new dock road.
As far as I can work out most shops get theirs from there too.

We have had a similar problem, chlorine just did not seem to have the strength it should have had for 90%, we had to use much more than previously to get the chlorine levels correct. When we bought the tub, we weighed it and it was almost 1kg light in weight. We went back to see them but they dismissed it, just shrugged their shoulders. We went back again when we found it was not as strong as we felt it should be but they said that all their chemicals are tested and they were confident that it was 90% and good quality. We now buy from elsewhere.

What size tubs are these as Siba is £50 for 18kg which is not cheap and this time I putting twice the amount in to get the level right, a complete con. You would think they would at least check the tubs out if they are getting complaints. I bought some flock from there last year and I may as well of put fairy liquid in with the amount of bubbles it produced and it was useless.

That's probably true actually. If I knew where or how to test it I would as it says 90% on the tub. Don't like getting turned over but I really feel I have.

Solic- the power of the forum means that there are now a fair few people that won't buy chemicals from there.
Although it doesn't make your situation better, at least others have now been warned.
It never fails to amaze me the basic lack of business acumen here, given that it's a relatively small place.
The 'Cyprus Shrug' often results in a negative post on here and other forums and a subsequent lack of business.
You rip one person off and make a huge profit on one sale, but then lose an exponential amount of business as a result of your greed and shoddy practice, given that most ex-pats talk to others, and post on forums.
I just can't get my head round the logic in running a business like that.
By the way -Is it the same company that has the shop opposite the Bellapais traffic lights?
