We have quite large gravelled areas, that need constand weeding. I've been using poison as well, but I generally try not to use any poison unless its absolutely necessary. My husband remembered, when he lived in Ealing, London as a child that municipal workers cleaned paving and park areas with the weed burner. He remembers them to be run on paraffin.
We borrowed something from a roofer which was really too big, more of a flame thrower and a bit scary, especially when there was any wind.
I looked on the internet and there are lots of different weed burners, some run on gas. Some too small and some requiring small gas containers, like a blow torch and probably too small.
Does anybody know anything and have any advice please, especially with availability in North Cyprus.

We use pickling vinegar with a little bit of fairy liquid, this was mentioned on the old Cyprus 44 forum and as well as being cheap it works!! You could get big bottles of this white vinegar in Supreme, haven't bought any for a while as had a stock!!

Or you could try a weedkiller called Knockout. One capful mixed with 2 litres of water and sprayed on the leaves. It takes a few days, but kills the roots. Available at most local garden shops.
