Hearing Aids - Widex
Just to let you know that Widex hearing aids arenow available in Northern Cyprus through Mertcan Senol, who has Med Aid in Lefkosia. These are just about the best on the market and are much cheaper pro rata than years ago.
(We can speak form experience as my husband had one in England ages ago that cost twice as much as the one he got today.) These really are good and have a two year guarantee.
If anyone out there needs a new hearing aid then give Mertcan a ring on 0542 850 5451
It is so good to have a husband with whom I can now converse again!

By the way I know there was a gentleman that particularly wanted to know when the Widex appeared here. Not sure he is a KibKomer, but hope he has read this, or that someone has passé don a message. I am not going to put his name here or it oculd be a breach of confidentiality, but... putting this back to the top just in case he or others havenot read it.

Oh dear, Waddo, obviously you can't hear my laughter from here, cos you need a hearing aid.
Seriously they are never cheap, but compared to what Alan had years aog, it is. His hearing has deteriorated so needs a better Hearing aid. It's cost is 2,500tl but I am sure \Mertcan would give a bit of an indirim! There are aids that start around 1500tl, depending on hearing loss. Top of the range, and outside our range is 6000tl, although actually Alan does not need that.
If you do need to rejoin the human race and hear what everyone says (even if you turn off when not wishing to listen to nagging) have a chat with Mertcan.. His English is perfect and he gives great individual attention and he cares.
Now excuse me, I am still trying to stop laughing !

Thanks for that Marions, I somtimes feel like the old guy in the sitcom on UK TV many years ago - he had a cardboard box with the remains of his best mate (cremated) inside it, hung round his neck on a bit of string and his catch phrase was - "I heard that, pardon"!!
As the hearing goes down so the volumn on the TV goes up and that is a sure sign. I miss things and it is a great barrier to learning Turkish - ever tried to learn a foreign language via lip reading??? - so I think it is about time I bit the bullet and went back to being able to hear the nagging again - lol.
Will contact him after Xmas and the great New Year spending spree has come to an end, then I will be able to afford to get a proper aid instead of this damn trumpet thing, that keeps getting clogged up with moths and enterprising chit chats!!!!!

Good luck. Enjoy your semi silent Christmas and New year, cos I know when you get a good hearing aid you will realize just what you have been missing.
As for me, my coffee bar crawling is now severely limited until the bank balance is recovered, but it is worth it to know Alan can hear me when I nag, instead of my having to repeat it six times!
Mertcan is a really lovely fellow and doe snot pressure you into anything, so do go and see him.
