Re: shears sharpening
Not sure where in Girne but likely they would be sharpened on an electric stone wheel which can be overkill and shorten the life of the shears. Presumably you refer to hand shears ? I have hedges to trim regularly. What works for me is to ensure that the blades are aligned and no visible gap when closed. Oil and set the tension on the locking nut. Use a small, good quality steel, triangular (3 flat sides) metal file to gently clean the blades occasionally whilst in use and to stop a build up of damp matter on the blades. When sharpening the blades is necessary, use a side of the file not used for removing the damp matter and file only the bevel of the blades in one direction. Little effort needed. Files (cheap) from Yapi markets. If helpful to you I have an electric stone grinder but I live in Alsancak not Girne. Best of luck

Try the Canadian tool place in Catalkoy on the main road heading towards the Tatlisu/Esenteppe/Acapulco junction.
It's below the Malpas and near BO Thai restaurant but on the opposite side of the road. They sharpened our chain saw blade.
