Car Tax Renewal.

Is it possible to renew annual car Tax before the due date. Or do you have to go on the day it due for renewal.

One surprising thing,renewed ours last week and it hadn't increased from last year

Our latest experience (late 2013) was: tax expired on the Sun, went previous Fri to be told cannot do it early. Was then informed you have 1 months grace, ie - expires on 1st, must be re-taxed before the end of that month. Hope this helps, but as you may well know - this is Cyprus my friend and things change as moods suit.

I did mine last year a week before it was due, and no problem with that.

I tried to do mine in Jan, 2 days before it was due, with the next anniversary due on a weekend....and was refused. Told to come back after the 1st of the next month, ie having been driving for 2 days with expired tax. As this was downright inconvenient I argued the case, Miss on the desk called Madam over who said "No, Come back in the month you want your renewal for!". So make of that what you will.

We can all see the date on our car road tax disc as to when it runs out, there is then a 'month' written at the bottom - this is the month that you have to pay your road tax.

We went a couple of days before ours ran out (on the 31 Jan 2014) but were turned away and told to come back next month (this being this month). We went last week got it all done - no problems.

We were told that as long as we paid for it before the end of February we would not get fined. If we went over the end of the month before we paid then a fine would start mounting up.

Our car tax up on 28th Feb, went in on the 28th Feb and was told "You come back any day in Mart (March) just hope we don't forget this time.
