Gold Implant For Dogs
Has anyone's dog received this type of treatment to help hip dysplasia -my local vet is recommending this type of treatment and I would welcome any feed back. The procedure includes implanting gold beads in the affected area.

Re: Gold Implant For Dogs
Spooky you should post this. Until a couple of weeks ago I had never heard of it. I have a 9 year old dog with spondolosis and have just ordered this. My take on it is as that he is a family member, the treatment, whilst it requires an anaesthetic is fairly non-evasive and whilst it is fairly pricey by TRNC standards it is not by UK standards (My sisters dog had three trips to the vet for a cut paw and some stitches £700) it could make him considerably more comfortable for what may be several years. If it is not successful I will have thrown some money away and I may have to cut back on some things to pay for it but he is my pal and my responsibility and if I don't do it when he is suffering I will be asking myself if I could have done more. In the end the decision for me is straightforward, if the procedure was more invasive it may have been different. Best of luck is all I can say.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Art, may I ask what type of dog, weight and how old your dog is.
Max, being a big dog and his breed also makes him a candidate for hip dysplasia, so just interested.

Hi K.
Our dog Trubel is 7 years old and is a very big cross breed /her weight is approximately 42 kilos .
We had her X rayed two weeks ago as it was clear she was struggling on her back legs.
Will let you know how she gets on after the implants.

Hi
Petcross carried out the gold implant on our 6 month old German shepherd, 3 years ago. She had 4 implants.
She is now a perfectly healthy GS running around with our other German shepherd. Without the operation I feel sure she wouldn't be here.
If you would to see her then just email me and you would be more than welcome to see her for yourself.
Regards
