Sunday May 4th 2014 kick off 4-00pm @ Lefkosa Ataturk Stadium

Esentepe's roller-coaster season comes to a climax tomorrow when the final scene is played out in the giant Ataturk Stadium.
Esentepe and G.Birligi from Iskele will contest this match knowing whoever wins will be playing “Supa League” football next season. If the match ends in a draw then the door will be left open for Turk Ocak who should beat Dumlupinar to creep into the Supa League.

I am glad that we are playing G.Birligi as I know they are beatable, unlike Turk Ocak, who are in a different class. Even though we have completed the double over G.Birligi this season, (winning 2-1 on both occasions) form goes out the window in the “play offs”.
G.Birligi suffered a hammer blow when, in their last match against Turk Ocak, leading goalscorer Ertan Bulut picked up his 4th yellow card & will miss this match. Ertan has scored 17 goals this season and scored both G.Birligi's goals in their defeats against us this season. He will be greatly missed.
Esentepe will have no such problems & will field a full strength side. Goalkeeper Ali has recovered from a knee injury, and I expect teenager Sergen, now fully fit, to replace Oguz.
What a fantastic occasion this will be for the team especially the “brat pack” Mahmut, Sergen, Kaan and Deniz all still in their teens. Even “veteran” & Captain Berkan will relish another crack at Supa League football before he hangs up his boots. I understand the team are staying away at an hotel tonight (park benches in Baris Park probably!) in preparation for the “Big” match & will do light training today & tomorrow morning.
I hope they have at least watered the Ataturk Stadium pitch this week, as it was threadbare & rock hard last week. It's a shame about the surface in such an important match but it's the same for both sides.
Esentepe, to quote a line from a Specials song “this town will be like a ghost town” tomorrow when a large number of its inhabitants will make the journey to Lefkosa. They will create a fantastic atmosphere & will be the teams 12th man. I appeal to any ex-pat even if you haven't been to a game before to come along & support YOUR VILLAGE TEAM in their most important match in their history.
If your are a Liverpool,Arsenal,ManU,Stoke,Sunderland,M'boro,Swindon or Bristol City (perhaps not!) supporter bring your Clubs' colours & scarves & lets turn the Ataturk Stadium into a mass of red and white.
I am predicting a 2-1 win to Esentepe.

DIRECTIONS TO ATATURK STADIUM LEFKOSA.
Take the main Girne to Lefkosa Road. At the big “Peace and Freedom” roundabout take the first exit onto the Dual carriageway. Take a left turn at the second set of traffic lights (after going past the Stadium) the Stadium is then on your left hand side. Left at first entrance, drive round to the other side of the Stadium. This is the main entrance. Free car parking. Admission 15TL Ladies & children are admitted FREE.
