Last nights powercut

Does anyone know the reason for last nights power cut? Was it planned or are we in for a summer of cuts?

We heard that Ercan airport had so much rain that this caused the power cut? Any other thoughts from anyone?

My Cypriot neighbour told me this morning that it was caused by "something" near Girne. He was told 2-3 no power and then they have to put districts back on one by one. Hopefully a one-off but SO glad we invested in a big generator.
