Getting a quote for 3 Trunks to come to N.Cyprus. I hope someone can help me with this, can I get the Company to send them Direct to Farmagusta or do they have to arrive in the South first, and then be brought over to the North.
Reason I ask is i find it hard to get any information regarding this matter from the Shipping Co, They say that they will be Shipped to Singapore then on to Cyprus, would this be South or North Cyprus I just don't know, I seem to believe that they must first go through Turkey before they are allowed to enter the North, or am I wrong on my understanding over this matter.
Hope someone can give me information getting my Trunks to North Cyprus,
Thanks Robert & Margaret

Re: Perth Australia to N.Cyprus 3 Trunks
We did that ten years ago. We used a company called Transglobal Shipping, telephone number 1800668396. If they are still in business they were fantastic. Goods came to Famagusta via Turkey. We almost got ripped off by a Turkish agent/;middle man, but the guy this end sorted that out. We paid for door to door and that is what we got. We had a 40 ft container, but had to go to Famagusta for paper work. Easy peasy! The excellent driver of the lorry actually got up our mountain and we had a team of dynamic workers who unloaded and put everything where I wanted it, plus we had some Government |Offic ials who sat and drank tea whilst deciding how much tax we had to pay. Great experience.
Obviously 3 trunks maynot get the same treatment, but in a nutshell, get it sent door to door, via Famagusta. NO NEED WHATSOEVER TO GO SOUTH, but it must go via Turkey.
Hope that helps, And goodluck
(If transglobal aren't in business, I assumeyou know of others, or can find out, but do try to get door to door.)

I would recommend you have them sent to Famagust, don't get involved with the South as it will mean a lot of hassle.
Check with the shippers they know were you want the cargo to go and via which country TURKEY TO Famagusta TRNC.

Thank you Marions and Karmels for your reply, Marion have sent you a PM.
All we have to do now is find a place to rent for 6 months or longer, so If anyone hears about a furnished apartment around Kyrenia/Girni I would be very interested, I would say around end of October/November rent around 400/450 pounds month, sea views would be great, with large balcony and communal pool, ( son has asked for pool if possible ). and handy to the local dolmish would be great, when it gets nearer the time to leave Australia I will put an add in the property section.
Thank you all Robert and Margaret

Thanks for the p.m. It will be good to see you again (in case any kibkomer wonders what the heck I am talking about, I met Robert and Margaret on my last trip to Australia.
As to an apartment, do post in the property section, but remember that several of us have ocntactr with Estate Agents, and can make enquiries when you are ready. Do bear in mind that Girne has a large student population, and that if you are coming October/November then it would be good to try to find somewhere before the students return.
Good luck , and please continue to use KibKom, it seems to provide a lot of answers for a lot of people.
