Water pump
Any idea on prices for a new water pump for a house. Are there different sized motors?

Re: Water pump
Definitely different sizes and outputs.
You might be best to fit exactly the same one you have now, and save any changes to fitting or pipework, unless you feel you need a larger output.

I think I need a slightly bigger one as it is a long way from the house and there are miles of pipes! Its normally ok when the solar panels are in use but when the gas water heater is on the pressure drops quite a bit.

That sounds complex! - I think that perhaps you would benefit from advice given by a real, live plumber with access to your system, rather than generalized advice on a Forum...

Yes Keith I just wanted a rough idea of the cost of a new pump to save me trawling round the shops.

Re: Water pump
That won't make any difference with a larger pump, the heater will only let the water pass through at the speed it can heat it, there is a valve to control the rate, hence, if you turn down the heater temp, the water will flow quicker, turn up, will flow slower.Deniz1 wrote:....... but when the gas water heater is on the pressure drops quite a bit.

Re: Water pump
You will find a vast difference in the quality of pumps available for example the ones made in China will have a relatively short life, Italian are good and German the best, but as with everything out here - you get what you pay for!

Re: Water pump
Coban Puma pumps seem to be the 'cheapest' best ones just check whether you need a 1/2hp or 1 hp back in april were in the region of 110tl and 220tl
