Turkish Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Bozkır held contacts in Sweden
Turkish Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır had official contacts in Sweden and within this framework met with Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström. In his statement following the meeting, Bozkır said “We have discussed the issues regarding the solution of the Cyprus problem and prevention of Cyprus problem’s negative effects on the EU process. We have also discussed Greek Cypriot Administration’s decision of suspending the negotiations with a wrong perception and the importance of resumption of negotiations as soon as possible. Sweden is ready to give all sorts of support and to do whatever is necessary for the resumption of negotiations in the island”.
EU Commission is preparing to file a lawsuit against the Greek Cypriot Administration
According to the Greek Cypriot daily Alithia, EU Commission is preparing to file a lawsuit against the Greek Cypriot Administration regarding traffic violations and noncompliance with the information exchange regulation. I suspect that it loses a lot in the translation, however the 'tone' is fairly clear...

Re: News from the President's Office part 2 of today
Thanks Keith. That is why I put 'unedited and unexpurgated' with Part 1. As this is a missive emanating form the President's Office, I did not feel it my task to proof read/edit etc, and you are quite correct in saying that the 'tone' is understandable.
My own feleing is that one reads this for the message, which I think is clear. I know for a fact how extremely difficult it is to translate reams of Turkish into English and vice versa. The syntax etc of the languages are so different, and the tone is often different. So I hope that others will accept as you have the messages which I will post regularly.
I am sure that people will get used to it. A bit like the English of people like Maurice Chevalier in the past (yes, I know - way, way back) but I think it has a charm about it.

Soner, a News category would be most welcome and allow us all to have a better "Grasp" of what is happening around us in both the local and country wide arena's. Good idea, yes please.
Could you call it "Cyprus News" so that we don't get loads of UK/Worldwide news bits chocking up the category - after all if I wanted to know what Salford United were doing in the football I would follow their own website!!!!

Re: News from the President's Office part 2 of today
O.K. guys as this wa smy idea with the demise of KT, how about I put the news from the Presidents Office (which comes Mon to Fri)- any INTERESTING charity stuff not already posted plus whatever sports results I can get - CMC, Football and Darts, plus of course, anyone else could contribute if they wished. plus open to ideas.
I agree we don't need U.K. news. KibKom is all about TRNC, so any news can be on that Cyprus News pag.e Any other news which may be of interest can be posted as usual on the Forum.
Watcha fink?

I think it would be good to have a separate section for TRNC news.
