Re: new layout
Keith - are you 100% sure you are not zoomed in on firefox over 100%, in IE and Chrome Cntrl and + or - key zooms in and out. Might well not be the cause but being zoomed in over 100% could cause something like what I am seeing in your screen shot.Keithcaley wrote:Using Firefox (again) but not Chrome, I occasionally find that the first character of the heading is missing a bit at the left hand side...

Re: new layout
Erol, I get it sometime and am looking into it.
Sophie, glad we have not lost you. You'll get used to it after a day or so, I found it a little challenging to start with but it really is much better than old style.

Re: new layout
Hi Erol, I just checked the same thread again, and it looks OK this time! - it does seem to be a bit 'random'...
I tried zooming in, and got up to 300% without replicating the issue, so It doesn't seem to be that, although thanks for the suggestion.
**addendum**
Now THIS thread is doing it! - and it wasn't before...
**addendum 2**
and NOW it isn't !

Re: new layout
Oh dear! I have just been changed to the new format - I'm afraid I do not like it; preferred the previous style by far.
But as there is no option, I'll have to get used to it.....

Re: new layout
Format is very similar to Old format, only main difference is that avatars are on the right. Give it a couple of days and you will like it.

Re: new layout
I did post that I managed to update but didn't much like the layout, rather similar to my recently revamped virgin email & managed to return to old layout. Here I am again with most definitely new layout but didn't like green. Tried blue, teal & red which turned out to be "violet red", that'll do thank you.

I really didn't like it at first, but it seems to be growing on me - or is that MOSS?jofra wrote:Oh dear! I have just been changed to the new format - I'm afraid I do not like it; preferred the previous style by far.

Re: new layout
Change is always jarring but It is imo, better. It is cleaner and clearer. Very android 'material design' ish to me.
Just in case anyone is wondering why not give people the choice of old and new as they prefer, every style that a forum supports adds to the overhead of customising and maintaining that forum. This is mildly true of style options that only affect 'colour' but it is very true of supporting multiple styles affecting 'layout'.

Re: new layout
The more Styles there are the more work involved for me. So I would rather use the new style and rid of the old. Also, the new style keeps us up to date with the times.
Give it a few days and it will grow on you.

Re: new layout
I couldn't get on with Metro Teal (a bit too wishy washy for me) so changed to Metro Red and its great. Anyone who like me, preferred the Purple (ARE YOU THERE MARION), then Metro Red is a very good alternative. Give it a go!!

Re: new layout
Like you Sophie, I thought Teal was wishy washy & the purple/red is more defined, but it is my fav colour

Re: new layout
I use 'View unread posts' & I think that a 'Mark forums read' link on that page would be really handy!

Re: new layout
I thought the old system had Ads that "drove by" at the top? Once there are a couple of messages on the thread the moving Ads at the top go out of sight in any case don't they?
