We are arriving at Larnaca airport Wed 30 October around 7.30pm. We will be driving to Kyrenia, which border crossing should we go to? What time will the insurance booth be open until?
Thanks in anticipation

She normally closes around 9pm but as we are approaching "winter hours" she might close earlier. Get your hire car company to either get the insurance for your or get them to ring the lady and advise her you will be coming through around 9pm and see if she will give you the insurance. She is a nice lady and she tries to help. Hope this helps you.

Thank you for your reply. Do you have her telephone number? Which border crossing are you referring to please. Car hire company says I must make my own enquiries.
Thanjs

If you're talking about the Pyla-Beyarmudu crossing, then yes they will usually call someone out if its late, but best to ring if you're arriving much after 21:00 and want to make sure.
When we've done the journey we've often stayed in Larnaca overnight and crossed in the morning. You can get a good meal at reasonable prices along Finikoudes prominade (Tuck Inn is my favourite). The easyHotel nearby is clean and tidy and very good value for money:

I am a bit confused here, so if you come into this side with a South reg plate you do not require the tax chitty that you get @ Metahan.

Janey - recommend the following. Use Petsas Car Hire at Larnaca - they accept on-line bookings, have reliable vehicles and will arrange your car hire insurance for the north at a small surcharge of €10 on the normal cost of €25 per month. No car hire company should tell prospective customers to do their own insurance enquiries, no wonder they go out of business! Use the Pergamos/Bayamadu crossing - where in Kyrenia area are you traveling to? I can send a route card if you need one.

RCT - southern registered hire vehicles are already Metehan (Min of Transport) documented.

Thanks Tom, I go through Pergamos to the Base quite often, as I will be for Remembrance weekend as I stay in the mess.
But sadly I have to go through Metahan this time to get my Min Of Tpt Doc.
Why they can't do this @ all crossing points is beyond me.

RCT - as I am at Remembrance here laying the Army Wreath I cannot get to Dkl. However, please pass on my best wishes to Kevin (CO) and Stoddy (PEC).

Sorry - your point regarding RoC docs: why have a sensible system when you can inconvenience the masses all the time?
