I was" advised" that it was the International Space station!!! It has been visible before dark since about the end of April Any confirmation?

The Space Station is visible most days from here but it is far from stationery - it moves quite quickly through the sky. There is a NASA website where you can enter your location and see the schedule of overpasses for your area:-

The International Space Station is never visible during the day - only after the sun has gone down does it become visible as it passes over, reflecting the sun's rays. You should be able to see it tomorrow evening from about 18:57 for about 5 mins as it passes over from the South West to the North East.
