Does anyone know when the hunting season is? My neighbours have loaded up their dogs and gone off this morning abut I have not seen any dates in the papers and thought it began next month. Anyone know please?

According to the information on Google for last year, the hunting season was from 28th October to end of February - Sundays only - which allowed for 11 Sundays (and large game only - So look out you Ostriches, Lions, Tigers etc. However they have already started to drive by our place pulling the poor benighted dogs behind them, who without any training whatsover and only given decent food for about 6 weeks prior, will be subjected to guns and are normally gun-shy. If they don't do as expected they will be left up in the mountains to starve, or are shot. I've personally seen carriers go up with two or three dogs and 4 hours later drive by our house minus dogs. So be prepared to have emaciated animals come down from the mountains within the next few months.

If you hear gun shots you should call the police and complain there is a big fine for hunting when it is not the time and dangerous for other people i no that in february or towards the end of hunting i think it is you can either go wednesdays or thursday aswell there is a boy on our road that kept shooting the pigeons on the top of our row of houses and not even going and getting them when i asked him why he was doing it he started laughing i don't find it funny when my dogs are chewing at the dead birds or when they are rooting on our roofs but most of them dont even have the proper lisence for hunting so they can get in trouble i would complain

Why bother as the police do nothing, It is probably their relative shooting anyway! the number to call is 140.let me know if anyone has any success in reporting.

I think you'll find its from the last Sunday in October. If you Google something like TRNC Hunting Federation, I suspect you'll find the exact dates.
