Good idea for new 'sticky' thread

I have become aware from frequent recent postings that there may be a need for a new 'sticky' thread in the 'Restaurants' section of the forum.

Sunday Lunch, and where to find it is a regular topic on this forum, so I am suggesting that it is given it's very own 'sticky' thread in the restaurants section.

The benefits are numerous.

For example, you would always have an up to date review of the best places to go for your traditional(Nay,some would say bland) Sunday roast.

It would also also avoid the somewhat repetitive requests as to where the best Sunday lunches can be purchased and enjoyed.

Restaurants come and go, and some change hands, so a sticky would seem appropriate in this case,and most importantly,It would avoid helpful forum members like myself being abused needlessly.

There is already a page for restaurants, people just need to get used to using the search bar and maybe any new members or members that do not use Kibkom much are just not used to searching through the different headings.

I for one cannot see the point of a 'sticky' for restuarants as a 'sticky' is usually for use on an important issue or whereby someone (no doubt) pays to keep their topic a 'sticky'. It would also become a thread that would be enormous in length as everyone puts their thoughts on, where does it stop?

As there is a restaurant category on the forum then this is the place for all recommendations either ongoing or new.

As moderators we should try and ensure that when we have time we move postings relating to this subject that appear on the main forum across to the restaurant forum - hopefully this will ensure that people get used to searching this area for the information that they need.

I personally do not agree with having a "sticky" on either the main forum or restaurant forum for restaurant recommendations whether that be for sunday lunch, christmas meals etc - think everyone has personal favourites, a "sticky" for a favourite place for lunch may work for some but not appeal to others for many reasons (Cost, service, type of food available, location etc etc). We should let the food being served speak for itself and if its good people will post about it.

Don't start, you guys! This is a warning to be moderate form one of your Moderators. No insults, potential or otherwise. Or you know the Boss will ban you!

Poshin Devon is correct. Any way, normally stickies are paid for by interested parties, and I don'[t think it right to give priority to any restaurants. There arelots that can be recommended,but it is a personal choice at the end of the day.

I think Philoz suggestion carries some merit as some questions can get repetative. Perhaps a sticky with a simple reminder to search and with some tips for searching, maybe the use of wildcards etc

IMO, I think Philoz was being rather sarcastic with the original post about restaurants and then back tracked and wanted it made a sticky. Find it rather sad that he posted what he did. He could of just ignored it. Enough said now. Its not an important post about restaurants and we all know how things can change here very quickly. What can be fab one month can be gone the next or have new management. Just putting things under the appropriate banner is enough.
Think this is now the end of this post also.
