We are pleased to oficially announce our new product, NTV IPTV System. NTV is designed to meet wishes of our customers in a convenient and affordable way.

With a small NTV SetTopBox (STB) and accompanying remote control, now you can watch your favorite TV channels directly on your TV, WITHOUT the need of any satellite dish.

Also there is no need for 'going through' your computer in order to receive channels. NTV STB will replace or accompany other satellite and digital receiver boxes that sits next to your TV and will work just like them.

All you need is your Multimax Internet connection to receive more than 50 English speaking channels. More channels will be added regularly.

NTV service is currently available EXCLUSIVELY to Multimax Internet customers.

All you need to do is to connect the NTV STB to Multimax Internet and into your TV via an HDMI or standard AV cable (provided).

Wired, wireless and 'wired over powerlines' connectivity options will be available from the STB to your Multimax Internet, just in case your Internet is not next to your TV set.

================

NTV will be delivered to you through the high quality Multimax infrastructure you have been using. This means there is no new antennas to install outside, especially no need for huge satellite dishes needed for some channels.

NTV is tailoring packages for Northern Cyprus expat communities. English version will include the following channels:

BBC1, BBC2, other BBC Channels, ITV1, ITV2 and other ITV Channels, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky1 and Sky2, Sky Sports, Sky SportsF1, Sky Movies, and many many more.

First launch will include around 60 channels while more channels will be added regularly

YOU CAN VISIT OUR GIRNE OFFICE TO EXPERIENCE THE SYSTEM WITH A SET OF 20 SAMPLE CHANNELS NOW, including BBC, ITV, Sky Sports and Sky Movies.

This is NOT a cardsharing system, all channels will be streamed directly to your TV through your internet connection from many of NTV's high quality servers worldwide.

After testing and fine tuning the system over the course of the past several months, we are now confident in its quality and now accepting pre-orders.

A few questions....
We currently have 4 MBs which seems to buffer quite a lot in the evenings....will this still be the case with the this new system ?
If we lose the internet do we also lose the TV programmes ?

There is buffering with any speed from Cyprus at the mostly because of the load on the SERVER side, requirement of using a VPN route etc. Night time, where popular shows are on, a lot of people from all over the world connect to BBC/ITV/etc servers and they are overloaded, thus buffering.

What NTV offers is a completely seperate alternative, it will NOT use the servers everybody else is using, therefore eliminate most of the buffering and other problems.

Whether you lose TV when you lose your internet all depends on how you lose the internet connection. If you unplug your internet antenna adapter, or have problems with your connection to the basestation, then yes, you will also lose TV. However, if something happens to our TTNet connection but the Multimax network is operational, you should continue receiving more than 80% of the channels.

Hope this helps answering your question.

It helps but raises further questions....if this service takes-off then we will all be using the servers everyone else is using and therefore we will be where we are now...buffering....am I correct ?
Will we be able to download any of these stations (apart from BBC) so we can watch, say, a 2 hour SKY movie and it only take 2 hours to watch ?
What I dont want to do is pay an extra (£250 + £350) to encounter buffering on lots more channels.

when I say everybody else, I mean possibly millions of people trying to watch TV on BBC/ITV/etc websites. NTV servers are currently exclusive for Multimax customers. There is a big difference.

"Will we be able to download any of these stations (apart from BBC) so we can watch, say, a 2 hour SKY movie and it only take 2 hours to watch ?"
I do not understand this question, a 2h sky movie already takes 2h to watch, if you are asking whether we will have recording option, the answer will be yes.

We cannot possibly charge 600GBP if it will be continuously buffering, you are welcome to visit our Kyrenia office and experience the product yourself.
