There is a lady who attends Slimming World who collects them. We meet at the Fez on a Saturday from 09.30.

Or you can take them to Shayna beach - the little bar at the bottom of the steps will take them.

Hi Mint, not sure what info. you are requesting but if you mean the general collecting of tops. its all plastic lids from drinks,i.e.squash, milk etc, any colours.Take these to a collecting point and then these are taken in quantity and exchanged towards purchase of wheelchairs, as I understand it. start collecting

The Toparlanıyoruz Movement launched its “Blue Cap” campaign to provide free wheelchairs for those disabled persons in need through the collection of recyclable plastic bottle tops. (The plastic caps of all bottles such as water and coke, and milk and juice cartons all count, not just the ones coloured blue!) Within days, tens of thousands of plastic bottle caps were brought in to the Movement headquarters in Nicosia from all over the island. The campaign continues to grow in scope and speed in 2013. In order to reach a wider public, special collection bags where bottle caps can be dropped-off have been placed in Gloria Jean’s Coffee-shop franchises in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta, Ezic Restaurants and several other places like book stores, clinics and dormitories. Toparlanıyoruz volunteers tried to spread this message further by publicising the campaign on TV and Radio channels. We believe that all those who live on the island, (including ex-pats and even tourists) can make a serious contribution to this campaign and look forward to their support. For further information on how you can assist this campaign please call0392 227 99 93 or send an email to
info@toparlaniyoruz.org
From Toparlaniyoruz facebook page for those that are interested.
To date 21 wheelchairs have been provided to those in need of them.
Amazing when you think that someone less fortunate has benefited just by keeping your bottle tops.
I have been collecting from the day the campaign started and its surprising how quickly they mount up.

We place a plastic bag near the back door to remind us to take the top of the bottle before throwing it in the bin, as Tesco say "every little helps"

Have been in touch with a contact with this organisation and the collection is very much up and running. Places like Gloria Coffee, Tempo,Starlings Ezic Peanuts, and most big organisations in Nicosia are collectors. Of course, also the drop off points that have been mentioned on forum.Going to see if I can get Lemar involved as a collection point. This is something we can all help with, we all have juice, milk cartons, water bottles, coke, etc so lets put in a big effort, as it only costs us our time and effort. Many thanks

I have spoken to Wendy in Lemar Catalkoy and she is keen for them to be a collecting point and management suppose to have arranged it. However as I said before Citizen Advice at bottom of Bellapais rd is presumably collector. Again I say however, as I called there when shut and a young lad in furniture shop next door took them as he says Oscars collects them. I dont know that they are an official collecting point but if anyone has time to call in and ask if they would be willing to take others that would be a great help. Meanwhile I will chase Lemar again.

We give ours to a neighbour who takes them to someone at the Lamboussa Saturday morning market in Lapta.
I am sure if you go to the market, someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
Also The English School of Kyrenia are collecting bottle tops from all the children and their families/friends so you could always drop them off there with the receptionist.

We went into Tempo Catalkoy today but they looked very blank when I asked where the bottle tops went! Does the KAR shop at Karakum take them or anyone else this side do not want to go to Soyz.

Sorry relating to my earlier e mail, which I obviously didnt word quite right, but its the Tempo in Nicosia that is involved. You ask yourself why it doesnt work throughout all their stalls, but its a bit like pulling teeth here.
There is a tourist advice shop bottom of Bellapais road who I am told collect them, or in the furniture shop next door a very kind young land took them as he works at Oscars and they collect them. Dont think Oscars are a general collecting point but would be good if you have time to call and ask would they be willing and what do they actually do with theirs. Still on the case with Lemar, but thats another "tooth ache"

Is this still ongoing? I would like to set up a collection point on site if it is.
Also I understand ring pulls are collected for a charity here but as yet I can't find out which charity or any detail. Does anyone know?
