Posion Alert in Catalkoy

Yesterday we unfortunately lost our beautiful Bean to poison. We walked her behind the malpas hotel which has a clearing and ravine, we didn't see her pick up anything but once home within the next 20 mins she started fitting. We rushed to the vets and the lovely Funda Ferit did everything she could to save her but we were too late. Please be careful it's the worst feeling ever and no animal deserves that.

I am so very sorry to hear that. I was talking today with another dog owner and we were joking how our animals are getting fatter (well, mine is) because we dare not go for wlaks with them. Better a fat dog than a dead dog. But how sad that on an island of this beauty where one should feel free, our pets are 'chained'to the house because of the ignorant and uncaring and uneducated few. Hopefully within the next generation or two, this will have stopped. So very, very sorry.

Was this on the land where they are currently building? We live close to this and often walk our dogs there, so confirmation of the site would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Tanyaahmet, My English neighbour has threatened to shoot my dogs, because they bark in their own garden!! I have now bought anti bark collars from the UK, Hopefully this will shut him up, I have also lodged a complaint at Girne police station, just in case anything happens to my dogs. He has also been asking how much it would cost to buy a gun!

Owl lady it is really terrible the things people say and do at least you have tried to find a way to keep him happy but it just isn't right the neighbour that threatened me was turkish and he always threatened to poison my other dog which later on went missing and never found the funny thing he has his own dog you would think he would be a bit different. Hopefully nothing happens to your dogs but was a good move to put a complaint in and if anything does happen to them on your property there will be consequences

We can't be a 100% sure where she picked it up, whether it was the back of The Malpas or at the side near the ravine as we didn't see her with anything - sorry. We've lived at the side of Malpas for nearly 2 years and have never had any problems.
