This will give you a general summary of the Ottoman Empire's existence from its formation to Collapse - spanning over 600 years!

Many details and epic stories are left out but I guess it is the best that can be done during a 1.5 hour documentary. Enjoy!

Thanks bigOz for this, just saved it my favourites to watch later. I've been watching the Turkish Soap on the same subject but my Turkish is not brilliant so if I watch yours it will help me understand the other one:0)

watched them in the UK .......another perspective and informative ......recommended
Interestingly it is mentioned in the programme that there is a parallel programme running in Turkey and that there is a renewed interest being and or called for within the country.

Watched in around 50 countries, including China, Russia, Greece, Cyprus Republic (South), TRNC and many others in Europe, the Balkans, Middle East, Asia Africa and some other Turkic nations - clearly a very popular and successful serial. I have become a serial addict for the first time in my life!

Although concentrating too much on the events that took place in the Harem, plenty of historic information is on offer...
