If anyone is missing a Husky or German Shepherd dog please contact us as we have seen many all locked up together in what looked like a purpose built kennels. I wonder if this dog has been dumped? I did see a husky dog last week on the road to the Sahara complex but couldn't see if it had a collar.

Just to update. I contacted the original poster as i have been helping my neighbours in their search for their husky who has been missing for 2 months now. This poor husky is not the dog we lost. However due to the extent of his injuries we had to do something to help. It would appear that he was a stray as he had been hanging around the area for a few weeks. Yesterday morning he was attacked by a pitbull and had some kind, brave people not intervened, he would have been mauled to death. As it is he has sustained very serious injuries. The fracture to one of his front legs is so severe that it needs to be amputated. He also has numerous other injuries. KAR would only cover the cost of euthanising the dog. He survived the night out in the open, we felt we have to give this poor boy a chance so he will come to live with us if he pulls through. It makes me so angry that people can keep these dangerous dogs that are capable of causing this much damage. What if it picks on a child next time?

how very kind you are. I hope this poor dog pulls through, what an awful experience for all involved including the dog.
Your neighbour who lost their dog may be interested to know that there is a husky up at the KAR centre.

Hi all, thank you for all your kind wishes, I apologise for not updating sooner but the dog has been taking up most of my time these past few days.
He is coping well on 3 legs and his wound is healing nicely, he is very nervous (understandable) but slowly coming round, he came into the lounge yesterday evening and watched a bit of tv then fell asleep behind the sofa! Another challenge we have is that he is not trained to walk on the lead, so we are having to do that on 3 wobbly legs at the same time ensuring he doesn't fall over and hurt himself - we'll get there though.
if anyone knows of a large dog cage I could borrow for a few weeks it would be very useful, as he'd like to lie out in the sun but I can't leave him as he's so skinny he could easily slip through the railings on my gate..
We have named him Frankie xx

Amazing what you are doing. What has happened to the pitbull, obviously a big worry to people around that area and concern it may attack them or even a child?

He will eventually be fine on 3 legs. They are so resilient. We wish you and him well.

The man from The Baklava shop in Alsancak had a husky dog which seems to have disappeared a few weeks ago. It was a young male and was named Buz (Turkish for ıce). Do not know what happened to it but it was allowed to roam everywhere and was a big nuisance to everyone not the dogs fault but the owners. You can always ask if it is his. The shop is on the same block as Pizza King. You are doing an amazing job and the dog is probably better off with you. Let us all know how things go please. By the way this dog was never on a lead but did have collar. Might not be same one.

Hi,as Barbie said lovely ending. IF Frankie did belong to the guy from the Baklava shop he doesn't deserve him anyway. How would he survive there? Could you put some plastic netting across the bottom of the gate, so he couldn't get through?
