Sorting office for UK parcels?

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is a sorting office or main collection point in Girne, for parcels delivered from UK?. I am particularly interested in anything carried by DPD couriers. I am aware there is a sub post office in Girne for DHL, but I have lost track of orders carried by both DPD and DHL. The DHL problem is being investigated by the sub postmaster in Girne, Steve. (Thanks for that Steve), but I have not heard anything more about the DPD delivery since it left Istanbul for Girne, and that was two weeks ago.
Any help with address or contact number would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Stu.

Hi you seem to be confused with private carriers & state postal services!
Obviously you have DHL under investigation I have never heard of DPD but they have a website presumably you can make an enquiry through that to find out who their agents here are. Some of the carriers actually have their depots on the other side & service TRNC from there.

DPD - Direct parcel distribution. I have problems getting my deliveries with them back in Biggin Hill, so goodness only knows when you will see your parcels here! Good thing is that they need a signature,as proof of delivery so the retail sending company should eventually reinburse you.
Good luck!

Thanks Ozankoys,
I just wondered if there was any kind of communal collection depot that private delivery services used either in Girne or Nicosia?. I will contact the delivery company direct and see if they can shed any light on the progress of the parcel.

Stu.
chrisandsue,
Again thanks. I have contacted dpd and will wait to see if they have any updates.

Has anyone experienced missing packages from other countries
I was sent a small parcel from the USA in February to my PO Box in Esentepe which has not turned up, could it be possible that it is being held in Girne central post office.

Yucatan - it should have got to Esentepe. A few years ago I ordered something from USA - it eventually arrived while we were in UK for 9 weeks. There was a note in our PO box saying to pick the parcel up at the Esentepe PO but when we asked they said they had kept it for 2 weeks and, as it was unclaimed, sent it back to Girne. We tried at Girne but to no avail, luckily we were able to get a refund from the retailer. I now get everything sent to my children, who regularly come over from UK, that way it's guaranteed to arrive.

There is a room under the main post office in Girne, where packages are kept for customs and collection. It's worth trying. Last time I was in, there were quite a number of packages on the shelves.......
I had a parcel they were holding, and denied having twice - until I went in with our name written out on a piece of paper.
I then pointed to every likely looking parcel and said "Show me that one!".
They did eventually produce it - and proceeded to charge me for holding it there for me!!!!
The woman in there speaks quite reasonable English but the man looking for the packages doesn't.....
