What is the best bank paying interest rates for small deposits up to 10k

I don't know if they're still doing it, but I moved my savings of a similar amount to Near East Bank a while back and they offered a deal where whatever the highest interest rate during the calendar year was, then that rate would be applied to the whole account for the entire year. I think last year it got up to 10.5 or 11% at some point, which meant I got a full year's interest at that rate. I believe, however, that that only applied if you didn't withdraw anything from the account throughout the year. It's great for me as it's just my rainy day money so I don't plan to touch it except in an emergency, but if you'll need regular access it might not be as great. I think they still offered to match or beat any other bank's rates too even if you didn't leave it all 12 months. Ive been very happy with them. Got annoyed with Creditwest who seemed to have cut my rate without any communication every time I checked the account.

Did you get the 10.5% for the year from the bank for TL or Sterling?

Of couse it would be TL if you were offered that for sterling it would be a very risky investment indeed!
