Does anyone know where I can buy a Christmas cake frill here without going Southside. I have tried many supermarkets without success. Thanks

We have only ever found any in the South, prior to that my wife used to make ours out of ribbon bought in the haberdashery shop in Girne along with red and green crepe paper bought at Mr Pound.
If she can do it anyone can as she does not have one artistic bone in her body (she says this not me!)

Duh!! Never thought of ribbon, great idea will give it a try. Crepe paper not a good idea as brandy oozing out of cake - yummy

Heaven, we all have our moments
If you buy a wide ribbon you can then decorate it by putting a strip of Christmas paper around the centre of it.
A christmas decoration ie piece of holly on the front will finish it off

One of the haberdashery shops in Lefkosa old town sells narrow tartan ribbon in green/red which also looks pretty on the plain wide ribbon.
You can put a wide strip of silicone paper around the cake before the crepe paper to stop seepage.
