Is The Economy Improving?

I pose the question for 2 main reasons.
First is the arrival of new banks. As far as I am concerned there are enough banks here to service most of Turkey yet last year we had the arrival of Neo Bank, which is owned by the family who own Lemar chain and now Capital Bank which I am told is owned by a well known "businessman". This is a bit like the scenario where a yapi market opens and is successful so in a year there a six more nearby. No guesses as to what happens next!!!! Given that the key money earning element of banks is loans, what is happening in an already bankrupt society?
The second question I raise is that of Betting Shops - they are every where so where is the money coming from for people to gamble there?
