Bringing extra furniture from UK ?

Wonder if anyone can offer advise. We moved here 5 years ago and brought over a part container of personal goods. Now we sold our UK house and wanted to bring some of the remainder of the contents (suite, bed, dining suite). We have been given various views from "no you cannot do it as you have already done it once - you will have to pay full import duty on the goods" - "Yes put it on a shared load and the original load owner just says it is theirs" - "you can do it in wifes name as last time it was done in yours". Does anyone have any experience of this or knows the rules and how much import duty we would have to pay.
Thanks

Hi unfortunately as with most things here no one would be able to predict the amount of import duty you would have to pay as it depends on who you see on the day & how they are feeling. A married couple count as one for tax purposes.
Your best option would be to try & get on a part load where the main importer is not liable for tax.
